This Privacy Policy explains how Cryptid Audio, operating as [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles personal data in connection with our website cryptid.audio and our software, including the Aura plugin. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be plain about what we do collect.

1. Our plugins do not track you

The plugins themselves contain no telemetry and phone home to no one. Aura and our other plugins do not connect to the internet to report your usage, your projects, or your audio. They run entirely on your machine. Any licence activation happens through a deliberate, one-time step and does not stream usage data.

2. What the website and seller collect

We collect personal data in a few narrow situations:

• Licence delivery. When you buy the Software, we receive your email address so we can send your licence key and download link.
• Newsletter (optional). If you choose to subscribe, we store your email address to send occasional product news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every message.
• Support. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details so we can help and keep a record of the request.

Payment is handled entirely by our third-party Merchant of Record. The Merchant of Record is the seller of record and processes your payment and applicable taxes. Cryptid Audio never sees or stores your full card number or banking details. The Merchant of Record processes your payment data under its own privacy policy.

3. Cookies and analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate traffic to our website. These analytics do not set advertising cookies, do not build a profile of you, and do not track you across other sites. We do not use ad-tracking pixels or sell data to advertisers.

4. Processors we rely on

We share data only with service providers who help us run the business, acting as processors on our instructions:

• our Merchant of Record, to process your purchase;
• our email-list provider, to deliver licence emails and the optional newsletter; and
• our website host and the cookieless analytics provider.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: contract (to deliver the Software and your licence); consent (for the optional newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time); and our legitimate interests (to run, secure, and improve our website and to respond to support requests), balanced against your rights.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Licence and purchase records are kept while your licence is active and for as long as we must for tax and accounting purposes. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Support emails are kept for a reasonable period after the issue is resolved.

Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where data is transferred out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK addendum, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

9. Children

Our website and products are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
